Dear friends,

Thank you for a lovely and memorable evening.

When we first walked into Ohio University, we felt lonely, distant,
and secluded from our home far away.
The first year was tough, trying to balance a family, academics, work
within a tight schedules and limited financial resources.
The second year, several new Indonesian students came to Athens who
brightened our lives..
it was then we started to feel more comfortable living in a distant land.
After the third year, Athens became a "home" for us. We built a
community here, a network of close friends facing similar
circumstances. It was then, that we realized how important it was to
have such a supportive social circle around us.
The fourth year and beyond is history.. Permias was and is still one
of the tightest, active and well-run organizations at Ohio University.
An organization that other organizations can only dream to become.

I sometimes ponder how this came into being.

I found that Permias was based on pride, friendship, love, and mutual
respect. I hope that future generations can continue to develop and
nurture this legacy for all incoming Indonesian students. Although we
are all unique in our own special ways, we all share a similar goal to
become a representative of our beloved country and to contribute
towards its future success. Some of us have sacrificed careers &
family to make a difference by studying so far away. I salute you all
and I wish you will one day a leader in your own way back home.

Last but not least, echoing Tiwi's advice, please don't forget your
priorities: work hard first then you can play hard. Your studies
always come first. Please make your seniors and your country proud by
excelling in your courses then you can celebrate and reap its rewards.

Good luck and may God bless you.. always,

Adrian
